I was fortunate enough to have Sarah as a massage therapist in my practice between 2006 and 2010. I cannot speak highly enough, like her patients, of her skills as a massage therapist. She is able to adapt to her patients needs and apply a range of techniques to address those needs. She is able to ensure the patient is relaxed and she is approachable to allow patients to get as little or as much feedback as they require regarding their treatment. Because Sarah lives such an active and healthy lifestyle herself, I think she portrays the right image and always presents herself professionally and courteously. She was able to integrate well with the other practitioners and her communication skills regarding patients and day to day clinic input was always excellent. She was a pleasure to have as part of the team and would be an asset to any musculoskeletal health set up.

Before I went to Sarah Junor I had been plagued by a recurring back injury which I mostly managed with Pilates,  but which occasionally returned to haunt me. I had realised that Sports Massage could be used preventatively and hand in hand with Pilates, and was very lucky to discover Sarah who was recommended by one of my own clients. I had been to a couple of other Sports Massage Therapists before, but needed to find someone on my own wavelength that really worked for me.

I have been seeing Sarah every 6 weeks for over 4 years now , and she has maintained my back and attended other 'tweaked' areas as necessary to great effect. We have built up a very good relationship over the years, and I have had no hesitation in recommending Sarah to my clients as she has done such a wonderful job for me.She is an intuitive, experienced, caring and very professional practitioner and I am very lucky to have her as part of my support system.

Since moving from London down to Dorset my husband and I had never found any masseur who we really felt had the expertise and knowledge.  However we met Sarah and that has now all changed.  She has magic hands, the rare ability to read what a body needs and requires therefore all her massages are thorough, beneficial and healing.  She has mended my husband who has had a prolapsed disc and is constantly putting/rejuvenating my body.  Both of us are parents, triathletes, runners, riders....without Sarah we wouldn't be.  We really cannot speak more highly of her.

How massage freed me from chronic pain

Before I met Sarah it is not an over-exaggeration to say that my life had become so dominated by chronic pain that it was robbing me of any joy I could take in my family. The world started to lose its colour and I felt that having seen numerous GPs, a physio, a chiropractor, and had taken a vast array of strong painkillers with little effect, that this was to be me for the foreseeable future. I was exhausted and getting very down especially as I had been fit and strong until my lower back seized. The worst part was that no one could tell me what was wrong and I started living cautiously and hesitantly - not good when you’re only 36 with an 18 month old.

I finally saw Sarah about a year after my back had first seized up. She had come highly recommended but I had assumed that if numerous health care professionals couldn’t help then why would a massage? I also think that chronic pain can leave you feeling very hopeless and helpless which is a vicious circle.

During my first appointment she paid full attention to what I had to say but it was pretty clear she wanted to get going with her hands to also feel her way to where the healing needed to happen. She was kind, gentle but strong; determined to help me not just to alleviate the pain but to restore me to a better way of living.

An hour later I was able to touch my toes for the first time in two years, extend my back and I immediately had more free movement in my hip flexors. I was very touched when she called me a day or so later to ask how I was and offered some great advice about how to maintain flexibility.

That was nearly 5 years ago and I am so grateful to Sarah for literally changing my life. It sounds like hyberbole but I can assure you it isn’t. Once I was up and running again I continued to have regular massage as the health benefits are huge.

I cannot recommend Sarah more highly and my only regret is that I didn't find her sooner.

Post baby massage: Sarah worked her magic on me two weeks after having my second baby. I thought it was going to be some 'me time', a bit of lovely relaxation and the start of getting myto body back on track. Everyone knows post baby bodies are still a bit soft and muscles haven't gone back to where they once came from but Sarah was excellent in her knowledge of this, pushing me but not too far. I felt completely safe in her hands. I was honestly shocked after the massage: pregnancy and carrying / feeding a baby had resulted in my back and arms being out of kilter. The massage hurt, my forearms in particular, but after a warm bath and  a big glass of water I felt a million dollars. Things were lighter, I sat up straighter and perhaps more than the impact on my body, I had reclaimed a teeny bit of 'old' Emilie. It started the ball rolling with getting my fitness back and looking after myself, to make sure I could look after the baby! In short, Sarah is amazing at her job, but also a joy to spend 50 minutes with.

Andy Hackland - Ultra marathon runner, Officer Royal Navy

I've been distance running for many years and am quite serious about my training and nutrition. That said, until 12 months ago I'd never have thought of having a sports massage. An ITB injury led me to Sarah and after one session I was hooked. Extremely knowledgeable with magical hands she never fails to find the ache or pain and remedy it. Part magician part sports therapist she ensures I always make it to the start line for every race.
Sarah's approach is not just physical, she takes time to get to know her patient investing in a holistic approach to treatment. Quite simply, if you are serious about your body's well being then Sarah is an absolute must.

"After flying helicopters for 20 years including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan a scan identified a prolapsed disc in my lower back.  I embarked on a number of treatment regimes to try and help with what was a life changing chronic pain. After trying physiotherapy, various chiropractic treatments and acupuncture I discovered deep tissue massage and more importantly Sarah Junor's deep tissue massage. It is no understatement to say that Sarah with her knowledge, experience and attention to detail saved me from a very painful and dark existence that I was struggling to see a way out of. I will be eternally grateful to her and her healing hands. Having moved away and tried number of other practitioners she remains the best that has ever treated me and the bench mark against which I measure all others."
